When summer has come even in the tree-clad town of Sendai city, the cherry trees wear green leaves -- after petals fall and among the hedges, where deutzia flowers are fragrant in the warm breeze, -- a little cuckoo visiting from deep mountains whispers in my ear. Many swallows coming in -- from southern countries fly about over rice fields, in which lots of frogs croak, croak, one to another, -- with green leaves waving. Many birds flock together and give me their song from the green fields, around which -- the lily bell cups, growing in colonies and just now so fragrant, are abloom and at their best, -- many birds give their song. hanka Many birds give me their lovely song from the fields, where the lily bells are now abloom and fragrant in the gentle and warm breeze. |
